I will explain how our system works and what is required to submit a song for possible sync licensing.
First, what is sync licensing? Follow the steps below.
1. When a music director is looking for a song or a part of a song for use in a TV commercial and they pick your music, two sync licenses are required. These licenses to use your music is purchased and a contract is signed.
2. Once the legal agreement is signed and you are paid the agreed amount set in the contract, the director will use your music for the term of the contact.
3. Prior to all of the legalities, here are the requirements that you must prepare and submit. This is a generalized document. For the details on how to accomplish these steps, download the manual on the main page of our website. https://songwritersportal.com/sync .
4. First, you will need to create an account under the website shown above. Under Login in the main menu, click Registration. Register for an account and Login.
5. After login, you will be directed to the Current Opportunities page. Find one or more opportunities and upload a song to the system. You will need 4 difference clips of your song.
a. The full song with vocals.
b. A 10 second clip of the song.
c. A 30 second clip of the song.
d. An instrumental version of the song.
6. The 10 and 30 second clips will be auto created for you when you run the song upload application.
7. Once your song clips have been uploaded and stored on our system, you are ready to submit the song to one of the opportunities. That is one at the time. You can submit the song to all opportunities, one at time, if you wish.
8. Click the submit button, complete the form and send the song.
9. We then evaluate the song and if ok, we forward the song to the opportunity. Then, we wait.
